Do you want to begin, re-energize, or find your way back to writing?
It's time to jump start your writing practice!
I'm thrilled you've found your way here to start, and I can't wait to share my free 7-day challenge, Jump Start Your Writing Practice, with you. It will remind you why you wrote in the past, encourage you to make time for it in the present, and help you carve a path to writing nonfiction, fiction, and poetry in the future.
Keep an eye on your inbox for daily emails over the next seven days to guide you to putting pen to paper or to moving the cursor across the screen!
Hey! I'm Dawn. I love writing grooves that are hours long but seem like minutes. Grammar doesn't make me break out in hives. A good detour to find just-the-right synonym.
I also love reading, running, visiting my grown sons, and mashed potatoes. Not necessarily in that order.
Words are my thing. My own and others. For the past four years, I've helped clients jump start their writing practices. I've guided clients through revisions (and then celebrated with them when they found publishing homes for their books). I've taught students, ages 5 to 99 how to boldly face the blank page to write their hearts out.
I have 10 years of copywriting experience, two years teaching middle-school English (hello, grammar lessons), and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing.
I'm also the author of two poetry chapbooks, A Person Worth Knowing (FootHills Publishing, 2021), I Know When to Keep Quiet (Finishing Line Press, 2010) and a full-length poetry collection, Take Something When You Go (Winter Goose Publishing, 2016).
